Katy Perry Comments On 9 MTV VMA Nominations, Rihanna, Taylor Swift Being Snubbed

Katy Perry couldn’t hold back her tweets of excitement after learning she had just been nominated for a whopping 9 MTV Video Music Awards last night (July 20), among them Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, and Video of the Year.
“OMG! I just got word that I’m nominated for 9 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS!!! I’m kinda speechless/nervous/turned on!” she tweeted. “I can’t sleep…I’m so excited… It feels like every birthday/christmas/first kiss I ever had. Thanks so much for believing in me. I owe u.”
But as happy as she was for herself, Katy couldn’t help but speak up about some of her pop star pals that she thinks are equally as deserving of recognition, including Rihanna and Taylor Swift, getting the snub treatment.
“I do miss my RiRi, (s&m) Swifty, (back to dec) Kesha (blow) & Robyn (every vid!) Jessie J, (pricetag) in the/any categories #ohmanitstough,” she tweeted.
Rihanna’s name appears in the nominations alongside Eminem and Kanye West for her features on “Love The Way You Lie” and “All Of The Lights,” respectively, but for her own work, RiRi, like Taylor, Ke$ha, Robyn, and Jessie J, got nada.
Most of the girls haven’t spoken out about the snubs, but Rihanna, replying to a fan who informed her of her lack of nominations, had one thing to say. “Cuz I’m black b*tch,” she joked.
