The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards just got a whole lot more exciting: this year’s awards show will feature a Britney Spears tribute, as evidenced by this brand new promo – which features the nominated pop star herself in total party mode! Watch Brit make the rounds at an underground bash below. The promo features song snippets and iconography from Madonna, Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson, in addition to Brit, who is clearly enjoying this off-the-wall shindig. But what will the actual tribute entail? Will Selena Gomez somehow be involved?! Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Furthermore, is this Team Britney’s way of having the VMAs celebrate the pop star without having to actually have her perform? (We all know what happened the last time she took to the stage at the VMAs… maybe she’s just not quite ready yet to give it another go.)
