Howie Dorough, better known as the Backstreet Boys' Howie D, is emerging from the back of Backstreet and taking his shot at a solo career. After nearly two decades of boy-banding, the 37-year-old is the last of the four remaining BSB members to break away from the group for an attempt at a solo career. With the release of his single '100,' Dorough declares his independence and is set to drop debut album 'Back to Me,' a project five years in the making.

AOL Music caught up with Howie, who revealed in an exclusive Q&A that he attempted a Latin-leaning album before having an identity crisis as a Latino American who doesn't speak Spanish and opting to put out a 'Glee' music producer-assisted pop album instead. When he's not busy converting New Kids on the Block fans to his Howie D fan base on the NKOTBSB tour, he's watching his 2-year-old son dance like crazy to his dad's new single.
