There was initially speculation that Mother Monster would be hosting the awards show, but it looks like the performance artist will kick off the event -- and it will probably be bigger than anything she's done on the show before. During her MTV appearance, Gaga also fielded questions from the audience and viewers at home.
Yesterday, MTV rolled out a series of promo clips for the VMAs that featured the dame of pop amongst a group of jazz musicians, all shot in black and white, with the singer playing piano bra-less. And it's certainly been getting her fans all fired up for her upcoming performance. Check out Gaga's announcement below, and don't forget to watch the VMAs on the night of Aug. 28th.
